全国的BLOG公司已经超过了100家,其中包括三大门户网站。BLOG是个相当狭窄的领域,想把它作为web2.0时代的核心内容还为时过早。在专业BLOG领域内,和任何领域一样,服从一、二名通吃,三、四名求活,四名以后见鬼的局面。门户网站的进入,和专业BLOG公司目标完全不同。新浪、网易、搜狐的进入,说明站方求新求变跟上潮流的心态,也说明了他们认可BLOG潜在的利润可能。因此,他们纷纷进入,抢占一块地盘。
在三大门户网站的BLOG中,最强的还是新浪,其次是网易,最差的是SOHU。但是最终能够实现充分赢利的,也还会是这三家。正如英谚中所说:来得最晚的孩子,分走了最大的一块蛋糕。后发而先至,网络上一样服从这种残忍的定律。
可以分析一下新浪:它准备开始做BLOG的时候,完全按照设立频道的标准程序进行。首先通过网络的关系网,把试用权发给了一大批其他BLOG站点的核心用户。在一个多月的时间里,搜集各种反馈信息。到了九月份,根据信息反馈,升级为BLOG2.0。几乎是在一夜之间,新浪的BLOG得到了数十组服务器的支持,速度大为提升。美工和程序设计人员搞出了非常漂亮的BLOG页面---在国内甚至没有任何一家专业BLOG公司能在这一点上与新浪匹敌。
这就是大公司、门户网站的优势。它完全有耐心等待,等其他小公司为它开路。新浪有足够的技术支持人员,网页设计人员,它需要的只是等待BLOG的成熟,然后径直走过去摘桃。小公司花血本弄出了一条新路,它随随便便在一个月内就能跟上,而且依然占据市场主要分额,拿走最大的一块蛋糕。
回想当年,手机短信实现利润的这个方式并非是新浪首创,也非任何一个门户网站的发明。有很多小网络公司走到了前面,并且实现了赢利。但是,最终的结果如何呢?依然是后来的三大门户网站抢占了手机短信的最大市场,当初那些还有点赢利的小站早已经不知道死到什么地方去了。
没有足够的资金,没有成熟的团队,没有庞大的客户群,新创意如果不能实现完全的技术垄断,那么胜者始终是那些网络巨无霸。
再看新浪的BLOG,它的模式体现了新浪对市场的分析结果。
1、速度,用服务器组维持BLOG的高速,满足用户选择BLOG公司的最低层次要求。很多专业BLOG公司甚至都做不到这一点,说白了,他们没有新浪的经验。新浪能拥有数量惊人的BBS,保持其日常运营,对于大量客户下的系统维护和运转,比之于规模上仅为中小型的专业BLOG公司用足够的优势。用户用脚投票。
2、简洁,傻瓜型的界面非常友善,这和其他公司繁复的操作界面相比,体现了一种强大的野心:吸引更多用户,使BLOG更加平民化。在专业BLOG公司越做越复杂,功能越做越多的情况下,新浪反其道而行之。在它这里,BLOG已经是作为成熟产品推出,所以没有那么多累赘。而且,照顾到了更多的客户需求。
3、功能明确,新浪在功能的设计上相当明确。可有可无的功能,绝对不用。在各大BLOG专业公司设计的功能里,新浪只选择了其中的手机BLOG功能,RSS功能。其他华而不实的功能根本没有浪费任何人工去做,更不去做尝试和推广,而把这一任重道远的任务留给了其他公司。
新浪BLOG从生下来就领先了。、
因此,对于资金、团队、人气都不足的专业BLOG公司,唯一的出路就是对耗时间。一定要保持庞大的用户群,努力留在一、二名位置。如此,才有VC的钱不断进入,维持烧钱的局面,等待利润点的出现。
在所有的愚蠢的作法中,BLOG公司可以选择以下两条路自杀:
1、 大量投入资金开发BLOG新功能,新技术。去做这件事,未必有成效,但是烧钱的速度增加了。而且,即使做成了,也不过领先门户网站几个月而已,别人后发先至,一样抢完。
2、 把BLOG往BBS上靠,用这个方法吸引人气。BLOGCHINA就在走这种路线。试问:别人有成熟的BBS都未必能成就BLOG,你自己的BLOG不死不活的,还要去做BBS,这不是脑子里有水吗?
有限的钱应该在花在值得的地方,与其开发新功能,不如买更多的服务器,提供更快的速度和更大的免费空间。速度和空间都是资源,资源才能换来人。与其做BBS,不如丰富专题频道,在内容上下功夫,发挥集成的优势。为将来真正的web2.0时代的到来,做好先期的分类整合工作,今后即使交给引擎去自动集成,单是这种资料积累都能领先无数个身位。
总之,考虑到后发优势,BLOG想以独立于门户网站之外的姿态存活下来,并且在NASDAQ上分一碗羹,路还很长。

不能以传统的观点来看Web2.0下的网络。Web2.0本来就是一个平民化的运动,并非资金和规模能决定的。
即使新浪的Blog做得再好,我想IT界的人还是会选择Donews,财经和历史、军事界的还是会选择和讯,这是市场定位的问题,也是Web2.0下所决定的。
晕,是不是收了新浪的钱呀,就新浪哪BLOG根本不入流,如果不是因为他原有的流量,这种BLOG推出来,鬼才会去用它,BLOG在中国像是WEB2.0的先锋者一样,才刚刚开始,新浪从本质上根本没办法在一年内彻底引入WEB2.0的实质,新浪把1.0做的太大了,掉头或修正难啊,BLOG只是WEB2.0的其中一功能模块而已,新浪哪些老古董管理层已老了,回不了头,二三年后,几大门户不及时转型,必定死路一路
